What is Coaching?

I am currently going through certification to become a Co-Active certified coach. Co-Active coaching is a proven framework for transformative conversations at both work and in life. Co-Active is the philosophy of wholeness that provides a framework for people to experience the infinite possibilities of life. Co-Active grows you as a leader through conversation, actions, and awareness—and gets you outside your comfort zone, exploring your own boundaries and becoming aware of the impact you’re having around you. In co-active coaching, the coach and coachee work together, in an alliance, for the sake of the coachee’s agenda. The Co-Active Training Institute is widely recognized as the industry’s most rigorous coach training & certification program. 

How does coaching work?

I don’t have the answers, you do. I will not give advice or hand you the answers. In coaching, powerful questions are asked to evoke transformation. There will be some work to do between sessions as coaching is a journey that can takes weeks or months to unfold what already lives inside you. Coaching sessions will generally be every 2-3 weeks and will be 1 hour long. Sessions can take place over the phone, in person, or using video conferencing technology. The first session is a discovery session and may therefore take slight more time.

In order for coaching to work it is ideal to plan for 5-10 sessions. Once the coaching is complete there will be a final session, which is to create a sense of closure and fulfillment. 5 Coaching sessions is a package that will enable you to find your vision, discover your values and begin to realize your life purpose. 10 sessions is perfect for a deeper dive where the truly transformative work can happen. Either package can be extended.
